The Doggie House-Lawrenceburg Animal Shelter serves both the City of Lawrenceburg and Lawrence County.
  • Status: Like most of the shelters in Middle Tennessee, The Doggie House is currently full and closed to intake from the public.  The shelter will accept dogs from law enforcement in emergency situations.  These situations are on a case-by-case basis and determined by mutual agreement from both law enforcement and the shelter director.

  • Partnership: The Doggie House is one of our community’s public-private partnerships. The building and campus are owned by the City of Lawrenceburg.  Its employees work for the City of Lawrenceburg.  Ginger Morgan is the Shelter Director.  Morgan reports to Dick McKinley, Lawrenceburg City Administrator. Lawrence County, along with the City, funds the operating costs for the shelter. Friends of Lawrence County Animals (FOLCA), comprised of volunteers, partners with our city and county governments and raises money from the community to help fund special projects and non-budgetary items for the shelter.
