Our
Mission

FOLCA
To strengthen the community of Lawrence County by promoting and advocating for animal welfare
and responsible pet ownership. We primarily focus our efforts on raising money for shelter support and
community spay/neuter assistance.
FOLCA accomplishes our goals through volunteer recruitment, community/government partnerships,
educational efforts, and events.
FOLCA believes our purpose will make Lawrence County safer, more economically competitive, and a
stronger, better community for its people, its children, and its animals.
Our Primary Projects & Initiatives

Lawrence County Animal Shelter
Friends, it takes ALL OF US to create a thriving, compassionate animal shelter. From volunteers who give their time, to donors who provide resources, to adopters who open their hearts and homes—every role is vital. Together, we can ensure every animal gets the care, love, and second chance they deserve. Join us in making a difference!
Lawrence County SNIPS!
Lawrence County is so fortunate that we now have resources to help those who need it with spaying and neutering their pets. Our program is called Lawrence County SNIPS! (Spay Neuter Is a Positive Solution!) Lawrence County SNIPS! is funded by Friends of Lawrence County Animals (FOLCA) through a generous grant from the Lawrence County Commission. We also partner with People for Animals, CASA Clinic and Laurel Hill Veterinary Clinic in administering our program. (931) 852-4907
If you are interested in screening or working at one of our clinics, please reach out!
Childhood Educational Programs
Friends who are interested or have a background in education can join in launching our new educational program. We visits schools, daycares, libraries, and other community spaces to teach about animal compassion and pet responsible pet ownership.
If you are interested in both teaching and reading, let us know!
